Step 6: File the Petitions
The petition must be filed with the board of elections no later than 4 p.m. on the 75th day before the primary or general election, accompanied by the appropriate filing fee. In addition to filing the local option petitions, the petitioner must ALSO provide the board of elections with the name and address of any liquor permit holder within the community facility or district, or the petition will be invalidated.
